The latest report of Lux Research lists 3D Printing as one of the 12 emerging technologies worthy of attention in 2021.
In the past few years, 3D printing has been on the annual list, and as its capabilities expand, it will continue to promote innovation, interest and investment. Lux’s annual report points out the top technological innovations that will have the greatest impact in the next ten years. It is based on the innovation interest score of Lux technology signal measurement. This measurement summarizes data from patents, academic papers, funding, etc., and combines data from Lux Analyze the expert opinions of the team. The report is a new addition this year, rating the top five technologies that are expected to affect five key industries. The five key industries are chemical and materials, automotive, food and agriculture, electronics and IT, and energy. Among other things, many of these technologies are expected to play a role in the fight against the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. 3D printing ranks 9th in Lux’s report and continues to have a significant impact in many areas.
Emphasizing the automation of end-to-end workflows and the integration of new materials and 3D printing technology, as well as joint efforts to achieve mass production, all help to keep 3D printing on the list of Lux’s noteworthy technologies. Lux agreed with this in his report: “3D printing has been growing interest in innovation over the years, but now it has reached a turning point where it can be used to produce parts, not just prototypes, especially polymers. With the advancement of new printing technologies, the 3D printing capabilities of metals and other materials are also increasing, which opens up more possibilities.”
