Multinational chemical group Solvay, in cooperation with the world’s beauty expert L’Oreal and professional 3D Printing expert Ultimaker, held the third International AM Cup competition. The competition gives students, engineers and manufacturers from all over the world the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in 3D printing and create an innovative design for the practical application of 3D printing.

Participants should check the competition details and register their intentions on Solvay’s AM Cup portal at the latest on September 30, 2021. The competition will start on September 1, 2021 and will last until mid-November.

The materials to be used in the competition are specially selected from Solvay’s high-performance filament and powder combinations for 3D printing, including Solef polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), KetaSpire polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and Radel polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) filament, which includes medical and carbon fiber filling grades.

The winner will be announced in January 2022 and will receive a 5,000 Euro bonus provided by Solvay for reinvestment in academic, social or entrepreneurial activities, as well as an Ultimaker 2+ connected printer, and the opportunity to visit L’Oréal’s production facilities .
